Bankruptcy

Bankruptcy provides a fresh start by reducing, restructuring and eliminating many kinds of debt while allowing you to retain most or all of your assets. Coltrane Grubbs & Orenstein advises individuals and small businesses in financial distress about their rights under the Federal Bankruptcy Code. For bankruptcy related matters, we offer a free initial consultation with an attorney who will analyze the prospective client’s financial situation; advise on possible bankruptcy options, including Chapter 7 or Chapter 13, or if applicable, non-bankruptcy options; and provide information about the bankruptcy process, including, explanation of the credit counseling requirements, exemption laws, necessary paperwork and the required fees.

We also represent individuals who have been injured or wronged financially or otherwise through the negligence or wrongdoing of others, as well as defendants in such cases. If you find yourself in such a situation, it is important to remember that there are strict time frames and deadlines which must be met in prosecuting your case. Likewise, if you find yourself as a defendant in a lawsuit, you have a limited amount of time to respond in order to protect your rights. In either situation, it is essential that you seek legal counsel as soon as possible to protect any rights or defenses available to you.

Construction Law

Coltrane Grubbs & Orenstein represents a diverse range of clients involved in every aspect of the construction industry. We continue to help business owners with the organizational operations of the business entity through the preparation of organizational documents, operating agreements, bylaws, corporate minutes, as well as employment agreements and confidentiality and non-competition agreements.

Our clients regularly consult us on issues arising from the day-to-day operation of their businesses, including issues involving employee relations, employment law and government regulations. We regularly help our clients develop innovative solutions to challenges that face their businesses.

Elder Law

Our Elder Law practice focuses on providing practical solutions for individuals who are facing challenges related to aging or disability.  We help our clients organize their estate plans with Wills, protect their assets for a beneficiaries with special needs with Trusts, and provide clear guidance to family members through Powers of Attorney and Living Wills.  We also advocate for our clients in guardianship and conservatorship proceedings, settle the estates of their loved ones who have recently passed away, and maximize their protected assets if qualifying for Medicaid assistance.  With a little planning, our clients can have more gold in their golden years.

Estate Administration (Probate)

Coltrane Grubbs & Orenstein assists families and individuals in the administration of estates and in the establishment and maintenance of trusts and guardianships upon the death of a family member or friend. Traffic & Criminal Defense

Coltrane Grubbs & Orenstein represents individuals charged with misdemeanor traffic and criminal offenses. It is important to discuss your case with a defense attorney if you are under investigation or charged with a crime. In most instances, law enforcement officials are not required to advise you of any rights you may have, and it is important to consult counsel as soon as possible (and before making any statements to such officials) to avoid jeopardizing your case.
